SBS Video

For years the Korean authorities have been claiming that the only dogs eaten there are the native "yellow dog" specially bred for the purpose (as if that somehow justified their torture and abuse), and that domestic pets were well loved and regarded as family members.

This lie has finally been put to rest.

Animal welfare campaigners have have always maintained that all dogs in Korea are seen as a potential meal regardless of breed, and that many of the wretched animals in cages at meat markets are pets that were stolen, lost, or simply out-lived their usefulness and sold to the meat dealers.

On 27th June 2004, SBS TV News broadcast a video secretly filmed at a Korean dog meat market. Although it is in Korean, the images speak for themselves.

The image of the dog being killed has been obscured, but the casual cruelty throughout the film is unmistakable.

The Nausea

This horrific video of a small Korean cat being killed was supplied by www.thenausea.com. Please be aware that it is very disturbing.

EAST

This is one of the most nightmarish videos to be seen on the net. Fur is big business in China and they don't care what animals they use or how much suffering is involved. Dogs and cats (as well as the raccoons and foxes in this film) are SKINNED ALIVE to prevent the shedding of their fur. Our thanks to the Environment and Animal Society of Taiwan (EAST) for revealing this video to the world.

Animal Freedom Korea

This July 2007 video on YouTube filmed by Animal Freedom Korea (AFK), exposes the cruel, illegal dog and cat meat trade that continues to thrive in South Korea.
